We’ve been working hard to bring you the 20th Annual Hunts Point Fish Parade & Summer Festival, taking place on Saturday, June 17, 2023, in Hunts Point, the Bronx, NY. This annual event, now in its 20th year, is a procession through Hunts Point connecting the community to the Bronx River. This year’s theme is “Rooted Visions,” which honors the achievements and struggles of those who came before us while inspiring us to continue working toward a brighter future.
The Fish Parade & Arts Festival is a vibrant celebration that combines activism, joy, and community building. Participants often use banners, costumes, and puppets representing aquatic life. The parade culminates in an arts festival featuring live music, dancing, and art-making. The event is also a platform for Bronx residents and organizations to raise awareness about environmental issues and to advocate for environmental justice.
This year’s celebration returns to engage with hundreds of community members, families, and local workers. The event is being hosted by THE POINT CDC in collaboration with BEAM Center, Bronx International High School, Pepatián Bronx Arts Collaborative, the Bronx River Alliance, Rocking the Boat, BxArts Factory, and many others.

The 20th Annual Hunts Point Fish Parade and Summer Festival 2023 Saturday, June 17, 2023, ~ 11 AM – 5 PM
11 AM – Fish Parade Kickoff at Bill Rainey Park (Longwood and Kelly Street) featuring a 22 feet long Eel puppet made by BEAM Center and Bronx International High School students marching on the sidewalks.
12 PM – Fish Parade takes the streets (Departing The Point CDC, 940 Garrison Ave)
1 PM – Grand Marshals and Honorees arrive at The Point CDC
1 PM – 5 PM – Summer Festival Main Stage and Arts Showcase, Performances, artisan vendors, food, community organizations, art workshops, and resources.

Hemos estado trabajando duro para traerles el 20º Desfile anual del pez y festival de verano de Hunts Point, que tendrá lugar el sábado 17 de junio de 2023 en Hunts Point, Bronx, NY. Este acontecimiento anual, que llega a su vigésima edición, es una procesión a través de Hunts Point que conecta la comunidad con el río del Bronx. El tema de este año es “Rooted Visions” (Visiones arraigadas), que rinde homenaje a los logros y las luchas de quienes nos precedieron y nos inspira a seguir trabajando por un futuro mejor.
El Fish Parade & Arts Festival es una vibrante celebración que combina activismo, alegría y creación comunitaria. Los participantes suelen utilizar pancartas, disfraces y marionetas que representan la vida acuática. El desfile culmina en un festival artístico con música en vivo, baile, y creación artística. El evento es también una plataforma para que residentes y organizaciones del Bronx creen conciencia sobre asuntos medioambientales y aboguen por la justicia medioambiental.
La celebración de este año vuelve a contar con la participación de cientos de miembros de la comunidad, familias y trabajadores locales. 11 AM – Sale el Fish Parade desde Bill Rainey Park (Longwood y Kelly Street) con una marioneta de anguila de 22 pies de largo hecha por BEAM Center y estudiantes del Bronx International High School marchando en las aceras.
12 PM – Desfile de peces por las calles (Salida de The Point CDC, 940 Garrison Ave)
1 PM – Los mariscales y homenajeados llegan a The Point CDC
1 PM – 5 PM – Escenario principal del Festival de Verano y Muestra de Artes, Actuaciones, vendedores de artesanía, comida, organizaciones comunitarias, talleres de arte y recursos.
